Verizon and CGI U 2021 Social Innovation Challenge Application

The Verizon and CGI U 2021 Social Innovation Challenge is for current undergraduate and graduate students, as well as CGI U alumni, to develop projects that leverage next-generation technologies to advance one of three issue areas: immersive education technology, climate justice, and health equity in the U.S. This challenge will highlight the power of technology-based solutions to address significant societal challenges.

THE PROGRAM:
Finalists will be invited to participate in a summer program of hands-on entrepreneurial training from accelerator partner VentureWell, through which they will also receive approximately $20K per team including seed funding and a living stipend. We encourage you to apply in teams of 2-3 individuals. Team members can represent multiple institutions. HOW TO APPLY:
Please follow the instructions below, and consistently use the same one team member’s name for all submissions. Submit your application by 11:59pm ET on April 1, 2021.

PREPARE YOUR APPLICATION AT THE DESIGN SPRINT:
Verizon and CGI U will host a design sprint from March 8-12, 2021 to help teams learn more about the program, connect with future teammates, and refine their submissions. We strongly encourage and welcome all students who are interested in the Challenge to register here for the Design Sprint before submitting their application.

SELECTION:
Applications will be evaluated through the following rubric and reviewed by the Social Innovation Challenge Selection Committee. All applicants will be notified of their application status in April 2021.
